paris is for lovers and
antique dealers
It
is off to Paris. This particular trip has two meaning for us. One is
to shop and the 2nd is both of us have recently turned 65. Carol's
birthday is on
St Patrick’s Day and to celebrate this we chose
the most charming small hotel we have ever stayed at anywhere. It is
in the left bank and what a place. http://www.relais-christine.com/.
The charm is equally matched by the staff!! This hotel has no flaws and
I highly recommend it to anyone going
to Paris for a special occasion. I know you must be saying, “these
two are working”? It’s a tough job and our goal for business
that weekend was to go the the Paris market and find unique accessories.
Here is a shot of Carol and I shopping that Saturday in Paris.

Ok,
so now you’re asking “did
they find unique accessories? Try these two on for size. An old French
stove, with all working parts
to be used as a side table, next to a chair, as well as an unusual grape
hod, used to pick grapes. This one can stand on the floor and be used
as an umbrella stand. Enough business
for a while. On
Sunday, in Paris, Carol and I did something we never do on a buying trip.
We took a day off and played. For the past 7 years
we have been working 7 days a week on all our buying trips. The Relais
Christine hotel set us up with a boat ride on the Senne River. It was
fabulous. The glass top boat gave us a perfect
view of the key parts of Paris. We were on the boat for 1 and a 1/2
hours and saw the Eiffel tower , Notre Dame, the Louvre etc. It couldn’t
have been more perfect . Perfect didn’t
end there either. We walked around Paris, stopped for a Café Olay
break and prepared for one of the best dinners
we ever had in our life. Restaurant
Allard was out of this world. We
can still taste our escargot and chicken dish. This is a must, when staying
in Paris.
