first pierre salinger,
then normandy
Our
last day in La Bastide Rose brought even more emotion.
It seems that Poppy Salinger and Emanuel , chose to take an
old marble
factory, attached to the inn , and develop a museum, to pay their respects
to Pierre's
life. Emanuel took time himself, even though he was cooking for other guests
that night , to show us around the museum. Just one small
story from the museum. It seems Pierre Salinger was an avid cigar smoker and
after
John Kennedy's death, Jackie sent Pierre Johns leather cigar case with a very
thoughtful letter, expressing her gratitude for Pierre's devotion to her husband.
It gave me goose bumps.

This
was a long trip for us, partly because we found such exciting antiques.
We left Avignon and made our way by TGV to the Normandy area. A 8 hour
trip that enabled
Carol to relax and read. On our last day in France,
we found another stunner. It is done in French pine and could be a long
dresser base or a center island. This piece is paneled
on all sides
and is incredibly rich in patina. I must withhold the rest of our product,
but this
is just a glimpse of what you will see. Trust me, I have withheld some
astounding pieces.
