meet the beatles? (no.)

We made two more delightful side trips before heading home: one, to a dealer in Liverpool. Just to be in Beatle-land was worth it for us (and we actually came back with a few great finds). The second detour we took was to the village of Knutsford, just outside Manchester. There, we went to the Penny Farthing museum, which houses England’s largest collection of penny farthing bicycles (you know, the ones with the giant wheel?). With more than 150 bicycles on display, it’s almost hard to keep your eye on your food. And though the bikes are beautiful, we drove back to the airport instead of pedaling.

Our container from Europe arrived in early April, just a few weeks after we did. We can’t wait to share the rest of our finds with you in Sheffield – but we also can’t wait to go back.
