from old york to new yorkWe flew back to Manchester from Paris, and when we arrived back at our hotel, we were offered tickets to see the famed Manchester United team play football. It’s unheard of to turn down tickets to a Man U. game, but we were tired and, frankly, we’re not really soccer fans. Instead, we decided to go to dinner that night, but, of course, every pub was packed with Manchester fans who came in to watch the game. Served us right. The next day, we drove to a small town near York, England where we met one of our favorite dealers with an odd specialty: French country. Several times a year, he gets in his “lorry” and explores the French countryside for antiques to bring back to England. |
